Court Circular - page 6 - The Queen Mother's Funeral

THE funeral service was conducted by Dr Wesley Carr, the dean of Westminster famous for his numerous sackings and years of conflict and strife in this and previous posts (Eyes passim). He seemed to be a trifle confused about who the event was meant to be honouring.

A few days before the funeral he sent out a press pack. Among the helpful background notes he informed journalists that "Wesley Carr is one of the Church of England's foremost thinkers and organisers. His career has two distinct strands; he has achieved distinction as an academic theologian and as an internationally-recognised authority in managing human relations and social change."
